The colors Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, and Red categorize tracings based on acidemia risk, evolution severity, and recommended interventions.
Some experts advocate for the FHR 5-tier system over the NICHD three-tier model due to its perceived effectiveness in classifying EFM tracings accurately. This approach is increasingly embraced by medical facilities in the U.S. and Japan.
The FHR 5-tier app streamlines the use of the color-coded system by eliminating the need to consult extensive tables or definitions for deceleration types.
